EKO SAFE RIDER CLUB 18 were the winners at the two training seminars for motorcycles organised by EK

EKO SAFE RIDER CLUB

18 were the winners at the two training seminars for motorcycles organised by EKO Cyprus and City's A.R.T.
For the 5th year, two training seminars for motorcyclists were held on 3rd and 4th September 2022 as part of the long-term initiatives undertaken by EKO Cyprus to reduce road traffic accidents. Specifically, the seminars were held within the framework of EKO Cyprus’ EKO Safe Rider Club and in collaboration with the recognized safe motorcycling school, City's A.R.T., which falls under the auspices of the Cypriot Motorcyclist Federation.
It is important to note that City’s A.R.T. places great emphasis on raising motorcyclists’ awareness regarding riding correctly and safely. That is why in both seminars, held at the Daytona Raceway in Nicosia, participants had the opportunity to learn everything about safe riding and improvement techniques.
Following the completion of the seminars, 18 lucky participants were picked by random selection. Ten winners won a full-face motorcycle helmet, six winners won a €200 gift voucher for the purchase of protective equipment – specifically, an airbag system worn by the rider, while 2 winners won a complete safety suit.
Present at the awards ceremony were the CEO of EKO Cyprus, Mr. George Grigoras, the Secretary General of the Cyprus Motorcycle Federation, Mr. Adonis Christofidis, and the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Yiannis Karousos, who took part in the seminar on Saturday, 3rd September. Mr. Karousos had, in fact, a unique experience, as he got onto a motorcycle to enrich his knowledge about safer riding, following the directions given by the certified instructors of City's A.R.T.
A good riding behaviour can contribute to the reduction of traffic accidents. To this end, EKO Cyprus offers EKO Safe Rider Club’s members training seminars, delivered by City's A.R.T., which is the only programme with real statistics regarding the reduction of accidents. To date, more than 20 training seminars have been held and a total of over 500 motorcyclists have been trained.
EKO Cyprus’ Managing Director, Mr. George Grigoras, said in a statement: “The motorcycle is probably the most vulnerable vehicle on the road, that's why motorcyclists must be double and triple careful when riding both for their own safety, as well as for the safety of those around them. And as you all know, among the long-term initiatives that EKO Cyprus undertakes, actions that contribute to the reduction of traffic accidents stand out. So, with the hope that society will finally stop counting victims on the asphalt, we completed, for the 5th year, two more motorcycling training seminars.”
City's A.R.T.’s next training seminars are scheduled for 15th and 16th October 2022. For more information, those interested can call 22477000 or visit the website, http://www.eko.com.cy
