EKO Presented with Honorary Plaque for its Contribution to Scouting

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, presented EKO Cyprus with an honorary plaque in recognition of its continuous contribution to and support of the Cyprus Scouts Association. The event took place on 19th December at the Presidential Palace, during the presentation ceremony for the Republic of Cyprus Scout Awards, in the presence of Ministers and representatives of parliamentary parties. EKO Cyprus was represented by Mr. George Gregoras, EKO Cyprus Managing Director.

During the ceremony, Mr Marios Christou, Chief Commissioner of the Cyprus Scouts Association, stated: “I would like to thank our major sponsor, EKO Cyprus, who believed in the training programme for our Leaders and decided to cover 50% of the cost, thus contributing to a significant 35% increase in registrations for the Leader Training Schools.”

EKO Cyprus has been a perennial supporter of the Principles and Values that Scouting stands for and is one of the Scouting Association’s main sponsors. This year, in the context of supporting atypical learning, it has taken a number of initiatives to strengthen Scouting, including sponsoring the training of Cyprus Scouting Association leaders, covering a major part of the cost.
