The Firefighting Exercise at EKO Cyprus’ state-of-the-art Terminal at Vasilikos was a Success!

Exemplifying a strong commitment to responsibility and professionalism, EKO Cyprus conducted a firefighting exercise at its cutting-edge terminal in Vasilikos. This initiative was part of EKO Cyprus' ongoing collaboration with the Cyprus Fire Service (CFS).

Specifically, on Wednesday, 20th March, 2024, the scheduled firefighting exercise was executed with absolute success and impeccable coordination, based on a distinctive scenario designed by the CFS. The main objectives of the exercise were the immediate and perfect response, as well as the provision of high-quality services -on behalf of CFS- in emergency situations, such as fire extinguishing at the new fuel storage and handling terminal of EKO Cyprus in Vasilikos.

According to the exercise scenario, all participating partners convened at the lecture hall at Vasilikos Fire Station promptly at 8 a.m. A comprehensive analysis of the exercise and safety protocols, alongside an overview of vehicles and equipment took place. The simulation exercise commenced at 10 a.m.

In his statement on the day, Mr George Gregoras, CEO EKO Cyprus stated that “the Cyprus Fire Service has once again clearly proved that it is a modern, battle-worthy and effective force. Today's firefighting exercise focused on fire safety and emergency extinguishing issues at EKO Cyprus' state-of-the-art terminal in Vasilikos. I would like to underline that such actions strengthen and operationally enhance the degree of alertness and response of the CFS, while at the same time enhancing the sense of security in the terminal facilities. I would like to thank, on behalf of EKO Cyprus, the Cyprus Fire Service for the successful completion of the exercise. Congratulations to all involved parties for their ethos and professionalism”.

We would like to emphasize that EKO Cyprus's collaboration with the Cyprus Fire Service is driven by a commitment to practical assistance for our fellow citizens and society at large, with a primary focus on safeguarding human life, preserving natural resources, and protecting property. This partnership is built upon three key strategic pillars: providing essential resources and equipment to the Cyprus Fire Service, enhancing the training of service officers, and fostering public awareness and education to prevent fires.
