As part of its «Team Building» activities, EKO, on Saturday 8th of April, participated in the Dorian Donor event. The event involves a range of sports inspired by Greek mythology and the Dorian tribe. Dorian is a unique event combining the ultimate challenge with fun and social contribution.
The Dorians Challenge held for a second year at the CTO beach in Larnaca under the name “Dorians Coastal Challenge”.
It is a great honour for EKO that participated in the Dorian Donor event, whose name indicates the partnership established between the Dorians Challenge and the Karaiskakio Foundation. It represents the first and only official voluntary action of bone marrow donors in Cyprus.
The Dorians Coastal Challenge is described as the ultimate endurance challenge, where participants are called to test the strength of their body and mind by covering a 5 km run with 20 obstacles. Apart from a challenge testing the stamina, strength, endurance and teamwork of participants, the Dorians Coastal Challenge is also an entertainment event.
At the same time, that was an excellent opportunity for the staff of EKO to strengthen communication, boost morale and enhance teamwork outside the work place.
During the Dorians Challenge events, participants, spectators, volunteers and anyone who was interested could became a volunteer bone marrow donor (by cheek swab) or financially support the effort of the Karaiskakio Foundation by donating the amount of €5, €10 or €20.
