EKO Rewards Top Graduates from High Schools and Technical Schools in Cyprus

EKO rewards top-performing graduates of high schools and technical schools in Cyprus's mountainous regions.

EKO is launching, for the first time in Cyprus, the HELLENiQ ENERGY Group's Outstanding Graduate Reward Programme.

The EKO Outstanding Graduate Reward Programme in Cyprus is a new initiative implemented within the framework of HELLENiQ ENERGY's corporate responsibility strategy and the Empowering Youth pillar, aiming to recognise young people's academic excellence and support their educational and personal development.

The programme is addressed to graduates of public and private high schools and technical schools in Cyprus who excelled during the 2025–2026 academic year and are permanent residents of mountain communities included in the National Strategy for the Development of Mountain Communities (NSDMC), including the communities of the Tillyria Community Services Cluster.

Eligible applicants are outstanding graduates who achieved a high school graduation grade of 18.5 or above, as defined by the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, as well as an average score of at least 16 in the access fields of the Pancyprian Entrance Examinations. Successful applicants will receive monetary awards based on their academic performance, providing practical support for the next step in their educational journey.

The initiative is implemented in cooperation with the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities and with the support of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, reaffirming the shared commitment to creating more opportunities for young people living in Cyprus' mountainous regions.

In a statement, EKO CEO Mr George Grigoras said:

«At EKO, we believe that excellence and hard work deserve recognition and reward. Through the Outstanding Graduate Reward Programme, we seek to support young people who have distinguished themselves through dedication, perseverance and commitment. At the same time, we reaffirm our longstanding commitment to standing by local communities, particularly those in Cyprus' mountainous areas, by investing in the younger generation and in the future.»

Interested graduates are invited to submit their applications electronically from 24 July until 31 August 2026 through the following link: https://forms.office.com/e/YxQAF6Z1zv. Applications should be accompanied by a copy of the 2026 High School Leaving Certificate, a Certificate of Participation in the 2026 Pancyprian Entrance Examinations, a certificate from the competent local authority confirming that the applicant is a permanent resident of a community falling within the implementation area of the National Strategy for the Development of Mountain Communities (NSDMC) or a community in the Tillyria region.

About HELLENiQ ENERGY

HELLENiQ ENERGY is one of the leading integrated energy groups in Southeastern Europe. It was founded in 1998 as Hellenic Petroleum, with a history that traces back to the first refinery in Greece, established in 1958. Today, it is the largest company in the country and one of the most important in Southeastern Europe in terms of annual revenues. By consistently implementing an ambitious transformation strategy, the Group has emerged as a regional leader in the energy sector, with a presence in 8 countries and continuously expanding international activities.

HELLENiQ ENERGY operates in the production, supply, and trading of all forms of energy, increasingly focusing on new, cleaner energy solutions and Renewable Energy Sources. Its portfolio includes refining, supply and trading of liquid fuels and petrochemical products, hydrocarbon exploration and production, and fuel marketing, while at the same time rapidly expanding its footprint in the renewables sector.

A strategic pillar for HELLENiQ ENERGY is the development of a fully integrated “green” utility. In this direction lies Enerwave — the new name of Elpedison — the company responsible for electricity and natural gas production and supply in Greece.

The new business unit will produce and directly supply the Greek market with electricity, primarily from renewable sources, strengthening the Group’s commitment to a fair, affordable, and secure energy transition.

At the core of HELLENiQ ENERGY’s strategy is the development of its human capital, with the goal of being an employer of choice in the countries where it operates. At the same time, Corporate Responsibility remains one of its key operational pillars, through which the Group designs and implements multifaceted programs to support the younger generation and society at large, positively impacting more than 2 million people every year on an international scale.

HELLENiQ ENERGY is headquartered in Athens, is listed on the Athens Stock Exchange (ticker: ELPE), and maintains a secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: HPLD) through Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs). www.helleniqenergy.gr
