The countdown has started for the 2nd Cyprus International Athletics Meeting and EKO Cyprus, present always at the more prominent sports events of our country, is for the second year running, the Platinum Sponsor of the event that is being organized by the Cyprus Amateur Athletics Federation.
At Tsirio Stadium in Limassol on the 25th of May, top world-known athletes, like Miltos Tentoglou will be alongside other athletes from both the national scene and the international stage of athletics. They will thrill us with record breaking performances and powerfully emotional moments in an upgraded, top-standard sports event. The expectations of the public and the athletes are, understandably, high after the performances and standards of last year’s event. It’s worth noting that last year’s event, the first of its kind, was a hugely successful meeting, and its success was enough to lead the European and World Athletics Federations to promote it to the “bronze” event of the world tour. This year’s event will be the first event for 2023 in Europe and will feature a variety of events.
EKO Cyprus, in the context of implementing initiatives that encourage and promote sportsmanship, excellence and fair play, could not fail to declare its presence at the 2nd Cyprus International Athletics Meeting, and have the group’s logo adorning the athletes at every official appearance.
Mr Andreas Stratis, Consultant to the General Manager of EKO Cyprus, made clear in his statement at the press conference on the 6th April 2023: “We know very well the effort that is needed for all the athletes to remain at the top level. For this reason, the least we could do is to support and reward our athletes. With an organised programme for our social responsibility, we return the trust given to us by our thousands of customers who honour our stations every day”.
