EKO donates toys and gift vouchers to 300 children

The company continues its community service and stands by those who need it most

Nicosia, 14th February 2022 – EKO donated gift vouchers for clothing and educational board games to 300 students from 17 schools and Christian societies in the districts of Nicosia and Larnaca. The action is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility program implemented by the company.

The donations were made in collaboration with local community councils, school administrations and the Holy Diocese of Tamasos and Orini. The educational toys and gift vouchers were distributed to the children by EKO representatives during events over the previous days, providing smiles to many children.

This action is a continuation of the company's program to provide practical aid to society and state. Among other things, EKO contributed substantially to the collective effort of the Cypriot society to deal with Covid-19 while more recently the company provided the Cyprus Fire Department with state-of-the-art drones, as a means of strengthening measures for fire prevention.

During the distribution of the presents to the children, Mr. George Gregoras, CEO of HELLENIC PETROLEUM Cyprus, said: “Community service is one of the most important values for all of us at EKO. Through a series of targeted actions and activities that meet the present challenges, we stand by the next generations by joining forces with local authorities and citizens. The greatest satisfaction for us when we offered the gifts to the children, was seeing their smiles".

Expressing his gratitude, Bishop Isaias of the Holy Diocese of Tamassos and Orini, said: "EKO continues to actively support the social work of our Diocese. For a second consecutive year, they stand by us, offering gifts of love with educational toys and gift vouchers for clothing that will be distributed to children who really need them. The initiative of the company highlights the high sense of responsibility that characterises not only its business operation but also its role in the community".
